Mission: to expose minority adolescents to healthcare career opportunities and prepare them for college by providing them with life-skills through mentorship, community service, and international missions. Joanie Girl's Heart is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to expose minority adolescents to healthcare career opportunities. Through partnership with select Chicago Public High Schools, Joanie Girl's Heart establishes mentoring programs that target juniors who have an expressed interest in pursuing healthcare careers. The mentoring program consists of three key components: life skill development, community involvement, and global service. The life skill development component is comprised of twelve life-skill workshops and one-on-one mentoring. The community involvement component consists of eight local community service projects and one domestic mission trip (including a mini college tour). The global service component is an international mission trip.
