AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is leading the charge for education, advocacy, case management, and insurance coverage for Chicagoans dealing with AIDS. As a member of Investing In Communities®, this nonprofit can receive funding as a result of brokered real estate transactions – home sales, home purchases, or commercial leases. When more supporters use this platform, at no cost to themselves, before engaging a real estate agent,  AFC will have more resources to offer valuable HIV education and fight for the lives and rights of people with AIDS. 

Aids Foundation Chicago has been advocating for people with AIDS since the 90s, and  has not slowed down in the years since.. Many people diagnosed with HIV are refused insurance, lose their housing, and are otherwise treated poorly. The Foundation stands ready to combat all of these issues. It offers housing, advocacy, free HIV testing, case management, and education, which in some cases can prevent  contracting HIV in the first place. 

Housing

For those suffering from homelessness as well as AIDS in Chicago, AFC offers an affordable housing program that provides people with both short term and long term housing situations.

Case Management

Juggling different doctors, medications, and legal issues can be overwhelming. AFC provides case management for people with AIDS in Chicago. Case management services include: 

  • Medical and home health care;
  • Dental services;
  • Assistance enrolling into medication assistance programs;
  • Assistance processing the payment of HIV-related medical out-of-pocket expenses for eligible clients;
  • Substance abuse and mental health treatments;
  • Legal services;
  • Access to food pantries;
  • Public benefits;
  • Housing options;
  • Other support programs; and
  • Additional services through special programs.

HIV and HCV Healthcare

The AFC stays up to date on the latest research and market trends to ensure that they can help people find the most affordable and effective HIV and HCV Healthcare options available. They offer free HIV testing in Chicago, and case managers walk hand-n-hand with clients, as they search for the right insurance. 

HIV Education

For anyone interested in offering HIV education, AFC offers lots of information and tips for how to present educational material to an audience. Whether the audience is someone currently dealing with HIV, or a classroom of children just hearing about it for the first time, AFC has the resources and skill to help educate any audience.
