Buying, Selling, & Leasing Can Help Provide Legal Support

Cabrini Green Legal Aid (CGLA) is the leading  Illinois provider of legal services and advocacy for low-income individuals and families who are embroiled in  the criminal justice system. As a member of Investing In Communities®, CGLA can receive funding as a result of any brokered real estate transaction – home sales, home purchases, or commercial leases. Already, $2,736 has been raised. As more supporters use this platform, at no cost to them, before engaging a real estate agent, CGLA  will be able to provide pro bono legal advocacy to more financially struggling individuals and families.

Since 1973, Cabrini Green Legal Aid has worked to level the legal playing field for  low income individuals and families. Each September, CGLA holds the I Am Somebody Annual Benefit auction to raise support.

  • Providing testimony at hearings; and
  • Conducting surveys.

Visible Voices Leadership Council

The Visible Voices Leadership Council is comprised of formerly incarcerated women who provide monthly assistance to those going through what they themselves overcame with the help of Cabrini Green Legal Aid’s services. They share information, support skills training,  and act as ambassadors to the community. .

I Am Somebody Annual Benefit

The I Am Somebody Annual Benefit is another way in which CGLA raises funding for its mission. It  is a great way for the community to gather and support this leading Chicago legal aid provider.
