AT NO COST TO YOU, GET FUNDING FOR KIPP Chicago WHEN YOU: Buy a Home / Sell a Home / Lease Commercial Property
Buying, Selling, & Leasing Gives Low Income Students a Shot at College
KIPP Chicago Schools (KCS)is providing a tuition-free education for African American and Latino students in Chicago, preparing them for higher education and higher-paying jobs. As a member of Investing In Communities®, KCS can receive funding as a result of brokered real estate transactions – home sales, home purchases, and commercial leases. Already, $1,000 has been raised. Those who use this free platform before engaging with a real estate agent can support these innovative charter schools as they provide kids with the opportunity to further themselves in the world through education.
As a part of the nationally growing Knowledge is Power Program, KIPP Chicago schools have provided a strong public education alternative in the Chicago area since 2003. There are seven KCS, including KIPP Ascend Charter Primary School. The network of schools has partnerships with some of the nation’s most prestigious universities, such as Georgetown, Brown, Duke, Vanderbuilt, and Ohio State. Since just getting into college is not the end goal, KCS has a KIPP Through College program, designed to help students not only get into their aspirational school, but to get through it to a good job on the other side.
KIPP Ascend Charter
With a 500+ student body comprised of 94% African American students and 5% Latino students, KIPP Ascend Charter Primary School has a simple, yet powerful mission. They want to teach their students to CLIMB:
- Create;
- Love;
- Inquire;
- Make it Happen;
- Be the Change.
Students are driven not just to be competent in the classroom, but to be responsible difference makers in their communities with all the life skills they need to thrive in college and use their education to make an impact for good.
KIPP Through College
A large percentage of KCS their students are from low income households, and the statistics on students from that demographic in regard to earning college degrees and in turn higher paying jobs are very troubling. The KIPP Through College Program is a response to this problem. As KCS provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to make it to college, the KIPP Through College Program partners with alumni to ensure students finish their degree and make something out of it. Services included cover everything from one-on-one advisory meetings, financial aid advice, life skills coaching, and more.
