AT NO COST TO YOU, GET FUNDING FOR League of Chicago Theatres WHEN YOU: Buy a Home / Sell a Home / Lease Commercial Property

Complete Your Real Estate Transaction and Support the Arts at the Same Time
For more than 40 years, the League of Chicago Theatres has cultivated Chicago’s theatrical arts by passionately serving more than 200 theatres. As a member of Investing in Communities®, the League can receive funding from any real estate transaction — home sales, home purchases, or commercial leases. IIC has raised $873 so far for this important institution. The more supporters that use this platform, at no cost to themselves, the more resources the League will have to ensure Chicago’s theatres continue to thrive – entertaining, informing, and inspiring audiences for years to come.
Guided by a belief in the theatrical arts’ powerful impact, the League of Chicago Theatres is an alliance that helps the city’s theatres capture audiences, secure funding, and increase their overall reach and reputation. For example, by providing Chicago theatre job boards, professional development opportunities, affordable advertising, and grant programs, the League promotes successful performances across the city. And with more well-attended shows comes more opportunities to showcase diverse perspectives and new talent.
Securing Sold-Out Crowds
Soon after its establishment in 1979, the League developed Hot Tix, an effort to draw more crowds to performances across Chicago. Through Hot Tix, member theatres can attract larger audiences through half-price tickets for any unsold seats on the day of a show. At the start, the Hot Tix booth was located in a trailer. Today, this successful program has two downtown locations and online ticket sales. Not only has Hot Tix helped theatres fill their seats, but it has also increased the theatre’s accessibility to those who might otherwise be unable to afford a ticket.
Building a Connected Theatre Community
There is strength in numbers and, by building a collaborative theatre community, the League helps small, understaffed theatre operations thrive. It maintains listings of Chicago theatre auditions and theatre jobs, helping actors, actresses, and professionals put their talents to use. The League also offers Chicago theatre events focused on networking and professional development, helping organizations tackle industry issues together.
Advocating for the Theatre’s Future
Because the show must go on, the League of Chicago Theatres serves as a voice for Chicago’s theatres, speaking up when federal funding is threatened or partnering with corporations to award financial grants. Through the Chicago Green Theatre Alliance, the League also advocates for change within the industry, helping theatres become more environmentally friendly.
Your Purchase, Sale, or Lease Will Help Chicago’s Theatres Thrive
