Buying, Selling, and Leasing Can Help Smart Love Family Services
Founded in 2002 with a mission to foster increased well-being and stronger relationships, Smart Love Family Services (SL) provides a path to greater fulfillment for people of all ages. As a member of Investing In Communities®, Smart Love Family Services can receive funding as a result of any brokered real estate transaction- home sales, home purchases, or commercial leases. Already, $5,600 has been raised. As more supporters use this platform before engaging an agent, Smart Love Family Services will have more funds to help individuals and families achieve happiness and fulfilment.
Frustrated by conventional approaches, Smart Love’s founders, Martha Heineman and her husband Dr. William J. Pieper, set out to create an approach grounded in their own insights and observations as practitioners and parents. Their first academic paper, Intrapsychic Humanism: An Introduction to a Comprehensive Psychology and Philosophy of Mind, led to writing a best-selling parenting book, Smart Love: The Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Regulating, and Enjoying Your Child, numerous articles for Chicago Parent, and the award-winning childrens’ book Mommy, Daddy, I Had a Bad Dream! Smart Love Family Services was founded to put research into practice and meet the overwhelming demand from the people who were hungry for stronger families.
Smart Love Services include:
- Counseling and Therapy – a full spectrum of counseling services for individuals, couples, parents, young children and adolescents, as well as a treatment for autism spectrum disorder and neurological testing;
- Early Childhood Education Programs focusing on babies to kindergarteners;
- Learning Services for individuals that have learning challenges; and
- Parenting Services – support is offered for parents through videos, seminars, publications, and hand-outs.
There are many counseling services available, ranging from child and adolescent therapy to parent and family therapy, as well as a program designed specifically to help children on the autism spectrum to be happier and have better relationships.
Grounded in a play-based curriculum, SL’s preschool readies children up to six years old for transition into elementary school. The core philosophy focuses on social-emotional learning in five critical areas that are strong predictors of happiness and success: confidence, curiosity, love of learning, resiliency, and focus.
These SL programs help children to feel happier and more successful while reaching their fullest potential. Tutoring, support groups, and testing are some of the tools used in the Learning Services.
In addition to providing services for children, Smart Love also offers professional development programs. These programs offer assistance to clinicians, teachers, and other professionals to maximize positive impact in their interactions with children and families.
