Everyone who faces cancer has their own journey with their own set of questions and their own set of emotions. Imerman Angels is here to help find partners in support- “Mentor Angels”- who have had a similar journey.
Imerman Angels has developed a unique matching process using age, gender, cancer type and stage to give those with cancer, their caregivers, and their loved ones a way to connect one-on-one with someone who has been there before. This service is absolutely free and all Mentor Angels have been thoroughly screened and trained. The one-on-one relationship allows cancer fighters and cancer caregivers to ask questions and get advice about how to navigate the treatment and support options as well as the myriad challenges that fighting and surviving cancer presents. Angel Mentors also provide support for those who have lost a loved one to cancer.
The principles and philosophies that guide Imerman Angels are:
- Mission and people come first.
- Fundraising as mission focused.
- Build community.
- Build alliances with everyone.
- Be humble.
- Innovate and improve.
- Be joyful.
Everyone can do something to get involved or support the mission. Spread the word on social media so others can find and provide help. Become a donor or an in-office volunteer so that the organization has the resources it needs. See how your organization or company can partner or hold an event to raise awareness and funding. Become an Angel Mentor if you have been a cancer fighter, caregiver, or loved one.
